Jim Emerson principle of Emerson Consultants - Consolidated Safety Resources, is a safety management consultant, working in both the public and private sectors. Public sector experience includes Cities, Counties and Special Districts, and private sector experience includes oil field equipment manufacturing and management, production of gears and gearbox assemblies, and aircraft/aerospace engineering and manufacturing.

Jim’s consulting background includes consulting in occupational safety & health, liability loss control, and vehicle fleet safety management. He is a project, industrial and manufacturing engineer, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University at San Luis Obispo, and has a Safety Specialist Certificate and Safety Manager Certificate from the Professional Safety Institute, a division of the Safety Center Incorporated in Sacramento, California.

An integral part of his success has been his ability to identify and systematically evaluate the safety and detailed processes of many different kinds of work functions, develop improved methods and approaches, and work to establish consensus in the implementation of new activities.

Jim has conducted seminars on vehicle fleet safety management and conflict resolution for safety professionals for the Safety Center Incorporated. Vehicle fleet safety seminars have also been conducted for the National Safety Management Society, public agency vehicle fleet representatives, and public transit bus system managers and supervisors.
